Panasonic Mobile Communications unveils the W-CDMA/UMTS Area Analyzer to evaluate the reception area of W-CDMA basestations

TOKYO -- Panasonic Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. announced today that has developed the W-CDMA/UMTS Area Analyzer VS-2100A as measuring equipment to evaluate the reception area of W-CDMA base stations, which will be marketed on August 21, 2003.This Area Analyzer enables customer to measure PCPICH signal (Primary Common Pilot Channel) for 64chs (in static mode) and acquire the decoded information of BCH (Broadcast Channel Information). Those data are linked with built-in GPS and plotted on the real map classifying the strength by color (option).Due to miniaturization, customer can measure and analyze easily and accurately signals from base stations, signal strength of such as multipath and interference in the various fields irrespective of indoor or outdoor use in addition to in-vehicle use. Interference fluctuations,etc., occurring after start-up of operation can be easily measured and very effective in the design and evaluation of the W-CDMA area.Panasonic Mobile Communications Co.
