Occam selects Dave Mason to head engineering team

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Occam Networks Inc. (OTCBB: OCCM), a supplier of innovative Ethernet and IP-based loop carrier equipment to telecommunications companies worldwide, today announced that Dave Mason, former vice president of engineering for Sun Microsystems, Inc., has joined the company as vice president of engineering. In his new role, Mason will lead the company's engineering and project management teams and work with the company's CTO to set direction on future Occam technology and products.

"Dave is a highly capable leader with extensive management and technical experience who will be a valuable asset to the company," said Bob Howard-Anderson, president and CEO of Occam. "He will play a critical role in the company as we enhance and broaden our Gigabit Ethernet and IP-based access network product line with new features and technologies that meet the technical needs our customers have identified."

Mason brings more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry to his new position at Occam. He joins the company from a 10-year career at Sun Microsystems, where he most recently managed large, multiple engineering teams responsible for developing and maintaining Sun server and workstation products in the United States and the United Kingdom. He began his career at Sun as a senior engineering manager.
