TORONTO -- John Roth, president andchief executive officer, Nortel Networks (NYSE:NT)(TSE:NT), todayannounced that the board of directors has appointed Anil Khatod to thenewly created position of Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer. Khatod is now accountable for the Company's business andtechnology strategies, end-to-end solutions architecture and valueproposition, strategic planning, investments, alliances, and globalmarketing and communications, including media and analyst relations,nortelnetworks.com, advertising, branding, and government relations.

"Our combined strategy and marketing organizations, led by Anil,will ensure our IP advantage is as valued as our Optical leadershipand that we, with our customers, take the leadership position in therace to unleash the potential to profit from the high-performanceInternet," said Roth. "Service providers will increasingly be in aposition to profit from emerging, revenue generating opportunitiesbased on Optically-charged, low-cost bandwidth, Nortel Networks IPleadership and service enabling solutions."

Nortel Networks also announced that F. William Conner, presidentof eBusiness Solutions, is leaving to become president and chiefexecutive officer of Entrust Technologies (Nasdaq:ENTU), a leadingglobal provider of Internet security services and solutions, effectiveimmediately. Joseph Davis, president, Commercial Markets for eBusinessSolutions, Nortel Networks, will assume Conner's responsibilities.
