HILVERSUM, Netherlands -- NEC Philips Unified Solutions (NEC Philips) has introduced a new release of SIP@Net, enhancing the SIP functionality of its SOPHO iS3000 Series and extending its scalability in supporting SIP extensions, SIP trunking and SIP based networking by means of a dedicated SIP server.

SIP server extends existing networks with up to 5000 SIP ports
The new SIP extension server off-loads existing iS3000 systems and overcomes performance issues that could arise as the number of SIP users expand. By adding a dedicated SIP server to existing SOPHO iS3000 installations, customers can easily expand their networks to cater for up to 5000 SIP ports without the need to change out their switching platforms and infrastructure.

SIP based SOPHO iSNetworking ensures full feature transparency between an iS3000 SIP server and an existing iS3000 network. The system software of the SIP server being identical to that of existing systems, ensures seamless integration of an iS3000 SIP server and an existing iS3000 network, as well as of the applications supported. The SIP server can also serve to support a full IP branch office, while existing networking and application licences can be easily transferred from existing networks to the new SIP server.
