NEW YORK -- Scanbuy, Inc. (www.scanbuy.com), the global leader in mobile barcode solutions, today announced that the Telenor Group and Telia Denmark, two of the leading mobile service providers in Denmark, will include the ScanLife mobile barcode reader as a preloaded app on several popular handset models, including the Nokia N8 and Sony Ericsson’s Xperia™arc, Xperia™neo and Xperia™Play. As mobile barcode traffic has increased 800% in the past year, today’s announcement reflects another significant milestone in the growth of mobile barcodes on a global level.

The ScanLife mobile application makes it easier for Telenor and Telia Denmark subscribers to access information via any standard QR code using the camera on their mobile phone as a universal barcode scanner. A user simply “scans” a common 2D barcode with a ScanLife-enabled mobile phone, and the app re-directs him or her to the digital content. The ScanLife platform reads all standardized 2D barcode formats, including QR Code, Datamatrix and EZcode, and can launch any mobile action, including opening a website; sending an SMS message, email or tweet; or initiating a phone call.

“We’re very excited to continue our relationship with Telenor and Telia Denmark to deploy innovative mobile barcode technology that will greatly enhance the customer experience for their subscribers,” said Mike Wehrs, CEO and President of Scanbuy. “As we continue to grow awareness for the value of mobile barcodes in Europe, aligning with forward-looking operators such as Telenor and Telia Denmark will play a key role in expanding consumer and business adoption of this important technology.”
