MERRIMACK, N.H. -- Metrobility, the leading provider of installed service-provider optical Ethernet demarcation devices (EDDs), will be displaying a live demo of its AccessServices technology incorporated in the new RS960 multi-port Ethernet demarcation device at Globalcomm 2006, June 5 – 7 in Chicago to deliver triple-play services with Layer 2 CoS/QoS and VLAN capabilities over a single optical Ethernet link.

The demo features an embedded RFC 2544-based test head that enables a non-intrusive VLAN-based or EVC-based loopback. The embedded test head enables service providers to more accurately measure Ethernet service performance end-to-end across a live multi-provider network without disrupting user traffic.

In addition to the RS960, Metrobility will also feature the following live Ethernet applications at Booth 31026 during the span of the event:

  • Fully managed off-franchise demarcation device for multi-provider networks

  • An easy-to-use, point-and-click configuration wizard that allows off-line network administrators to set up the parameters of a service for ease of provisioning

  • Bandwidth allocation in 1 Mbps increments set dynamically for both upstream and downstream traffic

  • High-speed wireless Ethernet demo highlighting reliable optical backup path and five 9’s availability

  • Managed services over CWDM

  • NetBeacon ESP Element Management Software designed specifically for service provider networks.
