BERLIN -- Lumics a manufacturer of pump laser modules and laser chips announced the availability of the LU0980M300 pump laser modules with kink-free power up to 360mW and operating power of up to 300mW.

Lumics introduces the new cooled 980nm pump laser module in standard low profile 14-pin butterfly package. The device is wavelength stabilized with a fiber bragg grating without fiber splice. The fiber type is specified with Corning Puremode HI1060.

The pump laser are designed for use in amplifiers deployed in high-speed optical telecommunications networks. The new generation of high power modules allows a more cost effective amplifier design. The LU0980M300 includes a TEC cooled with low package profile dimension The typical operating current (at Pop = 300mW) is 473mA with a very low forward voltage of typical 1.65V. The threshold current is specified with typ. 50mA. The spectral width at Pop with FBG is max. 2nm.The high performance of the device is based on Lumics propriety chip technology which ensure very high reliability with a breakthrough in laser facet passivation. Products samples are available now.
