PLANO, Texas -- LaserComm, an innovator of photonic components and modules and a leader in managing chromatic dispersion in optical networks, today announced that its broadband Hi-Mode(TM) Dispersion Management Device (DMD) has successfully completed qualification testing to Telcordia telecommunications standards. The test results confirm the reliability and performance stability of the Hi-Mode DMD, and provide validation that dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) system developers and carriers can confidently deploy the Hi-Mode DMD in optical networks to increase capacity and lower costs. "The Hi-Mode DMD reshapes billions of optical pulses per second in an optical network to deal with chromatic dispersion," said Deb Mielke, president, Treillage Network Strategies. "Optical networks carry a phenomenal amount of data, and both carriers and system vendors view Telcordia qualification as assurance that a 'critical path' device will function reliably."LaserComm Inc.
