Huawei releases CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A equipment, including the EC360 terminal

HONG KONG -- Huawei Technologies ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that it will showcase its CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev. A end-to-end commercial solution including DO Rev. A terminal EC360, which enables users to receive/send at a high speed data rate of 3.1 Mbps on the forward link and 1.8 Mbps on the upload/download reverse link.

Huawei’s CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev.A, is a commercial solution which provides operators with a future-oriented, high-performance and profitable full-service platform, supporting abundant services such as VoIP, wireless broadband access, and streaming media.

The service flow-based mechanism of CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev. A solution, allows distinguished dispatching for voice flow, video flow and normal data flow that ensures a high quality subscriber experience with VT services. Huawei’s industry-leading CDMA2000 BTS technologies reduce power consumption by 44%, and power amplification efficiency is increased up to 33%.

Huawei first previewed its CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev. A service at 3G World Congress 2005 in Hong Kong where customers experienced firsthand how the device delivers high speed and large bandwidth. Huawei also set up a video monitoring service experiment on the Shanghai high-speed subway. At mobile speeds of over 100 kilometers per hour, the CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev. A delivered a data rate of 2.4 Mbps on the forward link and 1.6 Mbps on the reverse link.
