LONDON -- Joachim Horn, Chief Technology Officer and Member of the Executive Committee at T-Mobile International AG, is to leave the company at the end of March to pursue a new professional opportunity outside of Germany. A successor for him will be announced in the near future.

"I am sorry to see Joachim Horn leave T-Mobile," said Hamid Akhavan, CEO of T-Mobile International. "His expertise and sincere commitment to the company will most certainly be missed. I would like to thank him for his dedication for the past five years, however I respect his decision to take on a new career challenge. On behalf of the Executive Committee of T-Mobile International I would like to wish Joachim all the best of success."

During his tenure at T-Mobile Joachim Horn was responsible for realizing a large scale network modernization in the core, radio and service platforms. He also laid the foundation for a successful Mobile Broadband business at T-Mobile by introducing both HSPA and Edge in the European networks. He also served as GSMA board member and was the chairman of the GSMA strategy committee.

Joachim Horn joined T-Mobile in 2003 as the Technology Director for T-Mobile Germany and Head of Planning and Engineering for T-Mobile International. He took on the position of Chief Technology Officer and Member of the Executive Committee at T-Mobile International in December 2006.
