LAS VEGAS -- GoAmerica, Inc. (NASDAQ:GOAM - News), a leading wireless data solutions provider, today announced an expanded relationship with IBM to securely deliver enterprise applications and software systems to a wide range of mobile devices including laptop computers, PDAs and cell phones. Building on the success of an established relationship between the companies, GoAmerica will integrate its Go.Web(TM) technology with IBM's WebSphere® Everyplace Access (WEA) to provide users access to behind the firewall data on virtually any data network and device. WEA provides links to back-end enterprise software systems, eliminating the need for re-coding each database for a specific mobile device. GoAmerica's Go.Web compresses, encrypts and reformats data for optimal access on any wireless data device and network. Once integrated, the combined solution will allow customers to better leverage existing technology investments and development skills to extend proprietary/back-end applications beyond the firewall to mobile devices. "Our work with GoAmerica extends IBM's reach into the wireless enterprise," said Letina Connelly, director, IBM Enterprise Pervasive Computing. "The powerful reach of Go.Web joined with IBM's strength in delivering enterprise solutions and services will benefit customers looking to leverage wireless to increase employee productivity and sales." The WEA toolset, when integrated with Go.Web, will allow for proprietary data from the same application to be pushed to different wireless devices and platforms based on user preference. For example, a sales team does not have to be standardized on one device or data network to access the same data securely from a Laptop computer, PDA, RIM Handheld or Pocket PC-based device. Additionally, Go.Web enables several modes of connectivity, providing online and offline capabilities. For instance, if a salesperson is accessing data on a train, and travels through a tunnel while transferring data, the device will go into a disconnected mode, preserve the data that has not been transferred and then reconnect with the network once exiting the tunnel without losing any data.
