LOS ANGELES -- GigaFast, a leading manufacturer of networking devices, today announced a new line of 802.11b wireless networking products that will be available this Fall. The new wireless USB adapter and Access Point with 4-Port Internet Router feature GigaFast’s new, streamlined and trademark lightweight, ultra portable design.
Wireless USB Adapter (WF741-UI)
Suitable for any desktop or notebook PC, the Wireless USB adapter features data transfer rates up to 11Mbps and supports 64/128-bit WEP Data Encryption for a high level of security. The WF741-UI supports peer-to-peer wireless communication; therefore an Access Point is not required. The new portable design of the adapter allows users to quickly connect the device directly to a USB port.
Wireless Access Point with 4-Port Router (WF711-APR)
The new Wireless Access Point with 4-Port Router also supports data transfer rates up to 11Mbps and 64/128-bit WEP Data Encryption at ranges up to 100 feet. The device also offers a built-in firewall to prevent unauthorized access to the network and offers a web-based interface for easy access and configuration.
“The new wireless line is a significant upgrade from our previous wireless products,” says Jay Cheng, CEO of GigaFast. “The USB adapter is one of the smallest wireless adapters on the market and offers the plug and play convenience of USB technology.”
GigaFast will also be introducing HomePlug and 802.11b hybrid products later this year which allow for both wireless access and HomePlug™ connectivity via existing electrical outlets.
