SONORA, Calif. -- Front Porch Inc., (www.frontporch.com) the worldwide leader in direct-to-the-browser messaging for broadband Internet providers, today announced that a Top 5 U.S. Cable MSO increased the adoption of its Mobile TV application by more than 20% while utilizing the Front Porch Customer Messaging Solution on the operator’s WiFi network. The operator has deployed the service for the past 12 months.
Subscribers accessing the Internet with a mobile device via the MSO’s Hot Spots receive branded messages with the operator’s logo, welcoming the customer to the network and asking if they would like to download a Mobile TV application to enable programming on their iOS phones and tablets. In this case, the operator has chosen to offer the download as a retention tool at no cost.
“The cable industry is seeing more operators leverage their networks to deliver Wi-Fi services throughout their footprints,” said Derek Maxson, president of Front Porch. “By utilizing these new Wi-Fi services to communicate and connect directly with their customers, operators extend their brand, generate revenue and enhance customer loyalty. The high adoption rate achieved by our cable operator customer demonstrates the significant value in communicating directly with customers.”
