SAN FRANCISCO -- Global IP Sound (GIPS), the leading provider of embedded voice-processing solutions for the Voice over IP (VoIP) market, today announced that its VoiceEngine Embedded technology is the cornerstone of the newly introduced FreePP VoIP service from Gemtek Technology, the world-leading provider of wireless broadband solutions.
GIPS VoiceEngine technology provides the voice quality underpinnings across multiple platforms for the FreePP service, which includes the newly launched FreePP Box telephone adaptor. FreePP offers global P2P (peer-to-peer) VoIP products and services over different systems and platforms.
"FreePP is at the forefront of the VoIP market by offering full service Internet communications," said Gary P. Hermansen, President and CEO of Global IP Sound. "We are excited to work with a company that has such a unique and comprehensive solution, and we look forward to helping them ensure that the voice quality requirements of their users are met and exceeded on all platforms."
FreePP will deliver unmatched voice quality with its FreePP Box by utilizing VoiceEngine Embedded, which is designed to handle jitter and packet loss, while minimizing delay and canceling echo in hardware environments such as ATAs. The FreePP Box is a patented telephone adaptor that allows users to seamlessly place calls over a broadband network by using an ordinary telephone. It also complements the previously announced FreePP softphone, which provides the same unmatched voice quality by leveraging GIPS VoiceEngine Advanced for PC.
"Our vision is to create a FreePP network that provides breathtaking value-added telecommunications services and VoIP products accessible from any Internet service," says Mr. Wenkui Liang, Vice President, at FreePP Inc. "The superior voice quality and cross-platform support that GIPS technology provides allows us to make a strong entry into the Internet telephony market and will help us to achieve our goal of making the FreePP service truly ubiquitous."
GIPS VoiceEngine technology allows for the integration of superior sound quality across multiple platforms, while providing the highest-possible tolerance to network packet loss available in the industry today. This new implementation continues to extend Global IP Sound's strong presence in the Asia-Pacific region, and demonstrates the company's willingness to deliver its groundbreaking technology on hardware devices.
