DENVER -- The following statement from Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q - news) responds to news reports today that Minnesota state regulators are reviewing Qwest's contracts with some of its wholesale customers and can be attributed to Steve Davis, Qwest senior vice president, policy and law:"This issue has nothing to do with the 271 process and will not affect our long-distance re-entry filing schedule."The agreements at issue are not about Qwest failing to allow competition. The issue is about whether 11 contracts between Qwest and individual wholesale customers should have been filed with state public utility commissions."The contracts at issue settled disputes with individual wholesale customers. Qwest does not believe that these agreements were required to be filed, but because this is a question that has not been previously clarified, we've asked the FCC to confirm our interpretation."Qwest Communications International Inc.
