Envivio introduces the all-IP convergence generation headend for IPTV and mobile TV service providers
March 5, 2007
LONDON -- Envivio Inc., the leading technology provider of IP video convergence solutions from mobile to HD, today introduced its Convergence Generation™ headend supporting an all IP infrastructure for IPTV and mobile TV service providers. As part of the new headend, the company also debuted at the IPTV World Forum its fourth generation, multichannel IP video encoder, the revolutionary 4Caster™ C4 whose unique and flexible architecture will ultimately bring together the Envivio® MPEG-4 video compression expertise and industry leading video quality to offer a multi-channel, multi-service encoder capable of addressing Mobile TV, Desktop TV and IPTV at extremely low bandwidths.
The Envivio Convergence Generation headend features the new Envivio IP Gateway, the new 4Caster C4 IPTV encoders and the award-winning 4Caster M2 Mobile TV encoders both with IP ingest, as well as the 4Manager network management and redundancy system. Together, the all-IP architecture provides a multi-service platform capable of addressing the key devices targeted by service providers who control both fixed and wireless networks. Once again demonstrating its unremitting commitment to empower a converged IP world, the Convergence Generation headend provides a full end-to-end IP architecture from video reception to subscribers’ TVs or mobile devices. The headend offers flexible routing, simplified management and redundancy, requires less space and is easier to manage and deploy than today’s traditional IPTV and mobile TV headends.
"The Convergence Generation headend, with its all-IP infrastructure, represents the future for service providers who must compete in a fixed to mobile environment," said Julien Signès, President and CEO of Envivio Inc. "Its architecture and infrastructure support today’s and tomorrow's IP video digital business models."
