Ciena Corporation CFO Joseph Chinnici named to Brix Networks' board of directors

CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- Brix Networks (www.brixnet.com), the trusted provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) performance management solutions, today announced that Joseph R. Chinnici, senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer at CIENA Corporation (NASDAQ: CIEN), has been named to the growing service assurance company's Board of Directors.
"Joe is a seasoned executive who has years of front-line experience gained at publicly traded companies, and his financial acumen greatly complements the operational expertise found in our other board members," said Tom Pincince, president and CEO of Brix Networks. In addition to Chinnici and Pincince, the Brix board includes: Rubin Gruber, founder and chairman emeritus, Sonus Networks; Rob Ketterson, managing partner, Fidelity Ventures; Alan Taffel, former vice president of marketing, UUNET Technologies (now part of MCI); and Mike Zak, partner, Charles River Ventures.
