Unitek Miyachi sells auto-align laser workstation to Chahaya Optronics

MONROVIA, Calif. -- Unitek Miyachi Corporation, Axia Systems Division, received an order for their new SX1000 Auto-Align Laser Welding System from Chahaya Optronics, Inc. (Chahaya). The acquisition of the SX1000 will permit Chahaya, a Fremont, CA based contract manufacturer of optical interconnects, components and modules, to provide precision fiber and component alignment and laser welding of a broad assortment of photonic devices. "A proven weld process is essential to successful laser welding of photonic devices. Axia Systems not only delivers unmatched auto-align laser welding equipment but also offers many years of laser welding experience. Through our Photonics Manufacturing Process Development laboratory, we assist our customers in the design of photonic packaging components for laser welding, the development of robust align-and-weld processes, and management of post weld shift.
