SAN FRANCISCO -- OpenTV Corp. (Nasdaq:OPTV), a leading provider of solutions for the delivery of digital and interactive television, announced today that Casema, one of the Netherlands' leading cable providers, has selected OpenTV to provide solutions enabling its new high definition, interactive digital television services.

Casema, a large Dutch provider of cable television, internet, and telephony services, will deploy high definition personal video recorders (PVRs) with OpenTV Core2(TM) middleware, OpenTV PVR2(TM), and OpenTV HTML(TM) browser. The HD PVR, with a dual tuner, is being marketed through retail channels. The broadband set-top box (Scientific Atlanta's Explorer(R) 8455DVB(TM) with STMicroelectronics 7109 chipset) will support an advanced HD electronic program guide (EPG) with integrated video-on-demand services. Irdeto conditional access will secure Casema's digital roll out. The new digital platform will serve Casema's customers in cities such as The Hague, Amersfoort, Utrecht, Delft, and Breda.

According to Alan Guggenheim, OpenTV's President and CEO, "The Netherlands is one of the most sophisticated and densely populated cable marketplaces, and one in which OpenTV has an existing large footprint which this deal expands further. This announcement demonstrates continued momentum for OpenTV's solutions for advanced digital television services; with OpenTV, network operators such as Casema can provide compelling and relevant services quickly and cost-effectively to its subscribers, with a unified user experience across its entire customer base."
