OSLO, Norway -- Birdstep Technology today announced a Software Development Kit (SDK) to meet the increasing demand by infrastructure vendors to include a Mobile IP solution in their offering. The release of the Mobile IP Client SDK positions Birdstep Technology's unique Mobile IP Client software for the OEM market. The new Mobile IP Client SDK enables Birdstep Technology partners to offer a customized Mobile IP Client, which can easily integrate with complementary components.

The Mobile IP Client SDK is compatible with the current version of Birdstep Technology's Mobile IP Client, version 2.1, available to customers since the beginning of November 2003. The use of the SDK permits infrastructure vendors, network component vendors, device manufacturers and application developers to capitalize on the advanced roaming and service capabilities provided by the Mobile IP Client and market this functionality as part of their own solution. This latest development strongly positions Birdstep Technology to take part in the rapidly evolving market of third generation wireless networks.

"In the emerging markets, it is key for many vendors to offer a complete mobile solution that integrates various components that can utilize information of the networks available," said Jørgen Bredesen, CEO for Birdstep. "This is particularly true for security components such as VPN solutions, data compression/optimization solutions, connection managers, WiFi clients, dialers and future network aware applications."
