New ISP Regional Internet Australia uses Ericsson's EDA DSL equipment to build its network

STOCKHOLM -- Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) today announced that Regional InternetAustralia (RIA), an innovative new Internet Service Provider based inNorthern Queensland, has chosen Ericsson's EDA DSL equipment to buildthe region's fastest broadband network.

The EDA equipment supports RIA's expansion of its Broadband DSLnetwork in the region, and will provide broadband customers withimproved functionality, and speeds more than 10 times faster thanexisting services.

"Northern Queensland is one of the fastest growing regions inAustralia, and the demand for broadband access from business andresidential customers is outstanding," said Warren Thomson, ChiefExecutive Officer, Regional Internet Australia Pty. Ericsson's EDA DSL equipment, including IP-DSLAMs, is provisioned tooffer RIA customers high-quality Internet services. EricssonIP-DSLAMs support the latest ADSL2+ standards, with speeds of up to24 mbps speeds.

Installation of the additional ports is planned for completion byearly 2006, extending Regional Internet Australia's coverage acrossNorthern Queensland. RIA also plans to extend their network to covermany other regional and rural areas around Australia.
