Alvesta to Supply BrightLink

BrightLink Networks has selected Alvesta as its supplier for 10-Gbit/s optical transceivers for VSR optical applications

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Alvesta, the leading developer of 10Gb/s optical transceivers, announced today that BrightLink Networks, a pioneer in on-demand optical switching solutions, has selected Alvesta as its supplier for 10Gb/s optical transceivers for Very Short Reach (VSR) optical applications.

“When BrightLink began development of the BOSS 1000 two years ago, multiple vendors claimed they could meet our demands, but Alvesta is the only vendor that actually delivered that promise,” said Jake Vigil, chief operating officer of BrightLink Networks. “With Alvesta's transceivers, BrightLink will be able to stay on schedule with the release of the BOSS 1000. Alvesta has proven to be a reliable partner.”

Alvesta’s Model 3100 Optical Transceiver will become a key component in BrightLink Networks' BOSS 1000 optical switch, a highly scalable product that promises to play a key role in the development of next-generation optical networks.BrightLink becomes Alvesta’s second Model 3100 customer, following the March announcement of a partnership with Force10 Networks.
