LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- From sports and music, to outdoor thrills and stand-up comedy, Alltel Wireless (NYSE: AT), America’s largest network, today announced agreements to sponsor programming on seven top-rated national cable networks – VH1, ESPN, SPEED, the Discovery Channel, USA, Comedy Central and Country Music Television (CMT).
Alltel Wireless will return for a second season as the presenting sponsor of the hit VH1 series, “The World Series of Pop Culture,” and for the first time will serve as presenting sponsor of CMT’s blockbuster concert series “Crossroads.” In addition, the company has signed on as the exclusive wireless partner of USA Network’s “Nashville Star” and presenting sponsor of the Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch” series and Comedy Central's “Brian Regan Tour.”
With an extensive portfolio of sports sponsorships, including pro football, 13 major college athletic departments, the No.12 Penske Racing Dodge, and event venues throughout the country, Alltel Wireless is expanding its comprehensive line-up by sponsoring SPEED’s “Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain,” and co-sponsoring the “College Basketball Slam Dunk and 3-Point Shooting Championship” airing live on ESPN March 29th, 2007.
