STOCKHOLM -- Acme Packet®, the leader in session border control solutions, and Italtel, one of the leading companies providing solutions, products and services for new generation IP networks, today announced that after several of years of successful deployments and thirteen customer wins, the two companies have renewed their systems integration and distribution partnership.

The Acme Packet Net-Net® session border controllers (SBCs) are an integral part of Italtel’s IP communications solutions as they satisfy critical requirements for IP communications: security, service reach maximization, SLA assurance, revenue and profit protection and regulatory compliance. Along with Italtel’s iMSS Suite, Acme Packet is deployed at incumbent and competitive service providers across Europe and South America, including BT Albacom, Atlanet, Auna (ONO Group), FastWeb, Neuf Cegetel, Telefónica International Wholesale and Global Village Telecom (GVT).

“Acme Packet has a key understanding of the requirements at IP network borders and delivers leading technology to satisfy those requirements. With multiple significant customer wins, the Italtel-Acme Packet partnership has been and continues to be successful,” said Riccardo Caldarella, Italtel’s Vice President, Strategic Office. “Italtel’s strength in call control and installation of complex next generation IP networks is complemented by Acme Packet’s market leading session border controller.”

“With a mutual understanding of the market and a commitment to support our customers, Acme Packet and Italtel are delivering solutions so service providers can build high quality and secure next generation networks,” said Mario Oliveira, Acme Packet’s Vice President, Business Development and Channel Sales. “Italtel is a leading supplier and integrator of softswitches and next generation voice and video networks and with our renewed agreement, we look to build upon the successful partnership we’ve established.”
