Puttering around the Ruckus office

Mini Ruckus

8:00 AM -- Ruckus Wireless Inc. held an open house last Friday, giving visitors a chance to play some mini-golf around the startup's digs in Sunnyvale.

I was expecting something more like dorm golf. ("Hole 3 is the chair in Bob's cubicle. Two strokes off if you actually hit Bob.") Instead, Ruckus rented little Par 2 holes, complete with beige carpet representing sand traps. Foursomes got treated to music and video beamed wirelessly around the building by Ruckus's 802.11 devices. (See Ruckus Wireless Inc.)

Ruckus probably did not intend its event as a chance for us to gratuitously mention the Heavy Reading Links Executive Summit 2006, happening in Santa Barbara, with golf, from Oct. 23 to Oct. 25.

Anyway. Because it beats working, I cruised down to Ruckus with the official Light Reading camera (read: whatever camera is found lying around) to snap some shots.
