Re: Catch 22 I think we are seeing a lot of operators building out fiber routes and buying fiber companies to reach metro access areas. That is the safest thing to do, because they know fiber is needed (in most places). But there are alot more questions about how best to light the fibers - with a lot of options, different opinions, and a lot of unknowns still (such as will Ethernet be suitable for fronthaul, as just one). So they will have to move more slowly on the transport technology choices until some of the big questions are worked out.

Catch 22 Does it seem like operators are tracking with where they should be in fiber buildouts to support 5G? Sounds like they're saying "we're doing it" but in actuality they maybe aren't building out the transport network as fast as they're leading on.
