consistently accurate billing remains very hard
Ericsson's failure to make Revenue Manager a viable service is reminiscent of Vodafone's Global Enterprise's (VGE) desire of having its own Telecom Expense Management (TEM) capability when it bought Quickcomm and TnT Expense Management back in 2010. One could argue that because all telco's struggle to produce 100% accurate bills consistently over time that spawned the TEM industry in fact. So it was no surprise when in 2016 Vodafone off loaded their failed experiment to one of the TEM specialists: Tangoe. Bottom line remains unchanged; accurate billing prevents customer pain and frustration and saves significant OpEx bandwidth on the operatror's side i.e. win win.
