Enjoy retirement Carol!
Hi Carol,

Enjoy your well-deserved and long-time-a'comin' retirement.  I remember you as part of that legendary group of journalists at Telephony, including Sandra Guy, Vince Vittore, Shira Levine and Rich Karpinski (plus more).  I worked with you during several phases of my career -- Burson-Marsteller for Sun, and later Amdocs -- and you were always a pro and a class act.  You took the time to ask the right questions and synthesize the story.  That allowed you to go beyond reporting into news analysis, a feat not everyone could manage.

Godspeed Carol Wilson!

Wishing You All The Best!
Hi Carol - we haven't chatted much in quite a while, but I have many great memories of our conversations starting back in the early days of DSL in 1993 with Garrick. Hard to believe how fast 25 years can pass. Good thing we haven't aged... too much :P

I'm really happy you're prioritizing time for yourself, your family and giving back. You always had your priorities right. Keep having fun and thanks for all the great coverage and insights over the years. You will be missed by this community, but welcomed by lucky others.

All the best,

DoubleDog

Thought it was great - the long goodbye
Carol: I can appreciate the long goodbyes :-) You will be missed and I appreciate the support you gave me by pulling me into the many keynotes on new networking directions. You helped create the exciting vibes and debates which helped us pivot into these new directions. We will miss you. AND ENJOY

Congratulations
Wow, I can’t believe the day has finally come, Carol. Congratulations! I share your feelings about having a front-row seat to the development of technology. It is quite a privilege. Thank you for giving me my first job at Telephony and even more importantly for hiring me at The Net Economy (and thank you for sharing the pic!). It truly was a dream job, and I’m so thankful for getting to learn how to be a better journalist from you and Dennis Mendyk. There could be no better teachers.

Stay in touch
Carol Wilson, now retiring from Light Reading, is an extraordinary journalist. She edited The Net Economy, which hasn't been matched in 15 years.

Memory Lane
Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane. I remember being at Crain Communications in Chicago and reading your Telephony pieces and thinking, "Wow, she's a good writer!" Glad our paths finally crossed at Light Reading/Heavy Reading.

Maybe now you can take some time to fix the Blackhawks.

Good luck,

Craig Leddy

Best wishes
Carol,

I remember your time at Ziff Davis fondly; and have been following your coverage for years.   Your expertise and history in covering the industry will be missed.
