AT&T Fiber & Ad-Tech Tidbits
Some other tidbits from AT&T's talk w/analysts:

-Donovan also mentioned that ATT's fiber biz is also playing a big role in his group. And they are still bullish about it. He mentioned that in markets where ATT is fibered for 30 months or more, the penetration is near 50%.

-More fiber: ATT on pace to add 1M fiber subs from the end of 2017 through the end of 2018. Plan is to end 2018 with 10M fiber homes passed, and add 4M more by mid-2019. "It gives us a nice footprint to sell into and provides us [with] a sustainable strength in the broadband business," Donovan said.

-ATT won't stop at 14M homes passed w/FTTP. That's just where the commitment ends. After that, they'll do the "incremental math" to see where else to take it.

-Xandr's Brian Lesser dug into the advanced/targeted ad piece. A big focus is to bring more of the data benefits of digital video to the still valuable TV ad inventory. And as traditional payTV distro declines, an objective is to mine more data from the OTT products and turn that into more valuable ad inventory.
