CNFs will require unprecedentedly tight standards
The movement to cloud native virtual network functions (called CNFs in the article), based on microservices will require that the VNFs be decomposed into sets of stateless microservices. This will require "breaking up" the functions that a VNF provides into a set of standard components - and the set has to be standardized, along with the interfaces amongst the microservices. This level of standardization would be unprecedented in the industry. I would be very surprised if the concept makes much headway, except in a couple of very specific areas.   @DrMarkHM  Mark Mortensen www.audrineresearch.com
