AT&T and TMob should be embarrassed -- for thinking that either of their paid operatives would deliver anything at all useful to them. But the amount they are reported to have spent is low by influence-buying standards.

Paying "lobbyists" who may or may not have influence in or on the government is a time-honored tradition in the USofA. And probably elsewhere.
