It will be interesting to watch Vodaphone and see if it's earnings continue to climb even when income goes down a bit and how the chat bots for customer service affect the bottom line and customer's response to non-human service.

Maybe the overall headcount stays the same however in VF UK they cut jobs every 3 months so I'm sure employees there are used to working under the threat of a tap on the shoulder.

Correction
This story has been updated since it was first published to correct an editorial error on headcount. Staff numbers for the fiscal year ending in March 2017 are either 111,556 or 108,271, depending on how it is measured. The 108k figure is not for March 2018.

Vodafone will not reveal headcount numbers until it publishes its annual report for the recent fiscal year.
