Re: Easy to switch clouds...?
63% is high! Sounds like a solid plan from AWS. Hopefully, it'll all work as intended.

And interesting to note " 63% of organizations running Kubernetes host those containers on AWS," so it's not too surprising that they will launch ways to get even more business even though those customers could move elsewhere ironically because of Kubernetes.

Re: Easy to switch clouds...?
It will be interesting to see if that also means degrading service quality for multi-cloud management services to deter customers from using multi-cloud services. As net neutrality dies, we may see more underhanded tricks to prioritize some services over others.

Re: Easy to switch clouds...?
Heh. Exactly. I wonder how much Microsoft's and Amazon's open source strategies will differ. Perhaps only in marketing? MSFT will go after large enterprises first, and AMZN will go after startups and mid-sized companies... before trying to steal away larger enterprise customers who still have the "you never get fired by going with IBM" mindset.

Easy to switch clouds...?
I assume Amazon will try to layer on various functions (or barriers) that make switching somewhat less desirable...? (Besides having one of the most reliable cloud platforms) If Amazon doesn't, I imagine some Kubernetes customers will try some hybrid solutions of using AWS plus other clouds to cut custs.
