Hmmm

I am very curious how the LoRa alliance will respond to the "bad news" about NB-IOT technology advancing in France, despite the fact that they control much of the nation's coverage. I have seen other articles discussing the growth of the NB-IOT field and some challenges that it may face in the future: https://www.link-labs.com/blog/3-reasons-you-should-forget-about-nb-iot

Why do you keep dissing NB-IoT?
You have another post, dated 15 June, where you quote Vodafone as saying there's no problem any longer (http://www.lightreading.com/iot/nb-iot/nb-iot-interoperability-problems-misinformation-says-vodafone/d/d-id/733767?itc=lrnewsletter_iotm2mupdate)

And yet, in this story, you once again diss NB-IoT... am I reading too much into this?

FWIW, my work takes to me a number of carriers in the South Asian region - and I'm hearing from CTOs here that Vodafone's statement is correct - the issues are historical though some of the promises around adding NB-IoT support through software upgrades need to be taken with a pinch of salt (devil's in the details: frequency in use, eNodeB vendor, age of eNodeB - the older ones aren't necessarily software upgradeable for instance - etc.).

It is also of interest that Orange plans to deploy NB-IoT in markets where they're using Chinese infra, presumably Huawei, likely for cost reasons (software AND devices) while they wait for a business case fueled by real (as opposed to hypothetical) customer demand, another issue that is at least affecting the South Asian region if not others.
