Re: VBGR developed in house? The revolution has begun

And once they perfect it, they could spin it off as a separate business. Maybe they could call it "Lucent"... Oh how the pendulum swings.

But I get your point that the service providers (the big ones, anyways) are stepping up to provide the services they internally need that they can't externally source. The company I work for only does $1B / qtr, and most-times we feel like we too small to be doing this ourselves.

Interesting times indeed.

VBGR developed in house? The revolution has begun
This is truly amazing. No longer tied to (or beholden) to a vendor? Internally developed VBGR's?  Automate AND Offer services?  On  White boxes! This is the beginning of the revolution! This is far and away the redefining how carriers compete with Webscale, and to think this is Century link doing this?

Amazing. I wonder if the implications of this are being grasped by the other carriers still tied to hardware defined strategies and expensive vendor platforms. CenturyLink is certainly taking its cue from the web scale guys.

We live in interesting times.
