You make a great point about broadband availability. I hadn't considered it, but high speed Internet access must play a part in TV sales -- especially smart tvs.

I would guess the growth of the UHD sets might be highly related to "normal" growth in new televisions sets as consumers feel the need to upgrade their older and smaller screen sizes. And there probably a huge correlation with the availability of super high speed internet at the customer's location as well.

@daniel That's an excellent question. SmartTV features are (most likely) improving. I wonder if people are buying new tvs every few years the same way they buy phones and tablets.

The question I have is: What's the overall volume of televisions sold these days? I would have to guess the number is in decline. 

People just aren't buying televisions like they used to. Screens are more prevalent in laptops and phones - it's where people are viewing A LOT of content these days.
