lack of execution
From my 7+ expirience working with Ericsson - they do have a lot of strategists who wants to draw nice powerpoint slides but almost nobody wants to execute things due to fatally ill, convoluted processes, anscient management practices and outdated tools. A lot of talking but almost no real innovative products. With the last couple years of layoffs a lot of bright people are gone.

How Ericsson can attract new great talent to develop and innovate in 5G era? Who will bring new ideas into the company? It is indeed very sad state for a company with such a long history. Maybe, what we see is the result of shareholder's value as a top priority instead of finding and keeping great talent. Thinking in quarters/short term instead of long term.

T-Mobile - never knowingly missing an opportunity
Neville Ray certainly didn't step back from the opportunity to have a dig at the fixed wireless developments at Verizon... but he well knows that this is just an initial application that can be tried and tested and learned from. I don't think anyone believes the future of 5G services is fixed wireless.
