Re: The SDN Approach to IP & Optical Integration In your opinion, what's the biggest business benefit service providers can achieve by implementing SDN in their networks? Faster creation and deployment of new services, lowered configuration and maintenance costs, lowered equipment costs, lowered costs of service delivery, improved service differentiation, or something else?

Re: The SDN Approach to IP & Optical Integration Do you use a slash & burn approach towards Optical SDN or there is smooth migration path?

Re: The SDN Approach to IP & Optical Integration Or just work with one good vendor who is right for you and then you don't need to even know that "interworking" is a word.  ;)

Ultimately, do what works for you, yes?  What is the real, inherent problem of "vendor lock-in" unless you sign an unfavorable contract?

(FWIW, I have never met a marketing or sales person who gone on and on about how bad vendor lock-in is who has been able to tell me WHY it's bad.)
