Apparently Roku is worried that the super low cost of hardware for video viewing may be in jeapardy is HTML5 is the way to go. Saying "bulky and expensive architecture that would require third-party device manufacturers to include additional processing power and memory to support it, even in their lowest-priced devices," might presumably put an end to $35 to $50 Roku and Google sticks and low cost devices they sell?

Roku is nuts! Shocking amount of tunnel vision from the company. Why would you ditch HMTL5, if there are easy to use, lightweight solutions such as THEOplayer that adapt to ANY platform and device.
