It's a fundamental shift in enterprise networking needs, from east-west to north-south. 

Technically, what Masergy is describing is more public or hybrid cloud than private cloud. :)

This was definitely the buzz at ITW last week - private cloud connectivity seems to be driving everything.

Masergy's perspective makes sense. As organizations look to external servuces for business-critical applications, external connectivity -- north-south -- becomes criticially important for communications that previously went east-west, to a company's own data center and back.
