Re: Hulu
True.

I'm glad to see Hulu competing more seriously. For a while there it looked like their grandest ambition was to be a gloriied ad for traditional television.

Re: Hulu
A lot can happen in a year and a half. I imagine Comcast is happy to sit on this for now and see how things play out through 2017.

Re: Hulu
Yes, 7 year conditions means January 1, 2018 is when they'll expire (was wrong about 2017). Though I've read a few reports saying Comcast largely ignored the conditions anyway. It does put the company on a collision course with its broadcast partners...

Re: Hulu
Wow. How did I not realize that the condition on Comcast will expire? That's huge. Wonder if there'll be a buyout in there.

Hulu
Here's what I'm interested to watch: Comcast's NBC Universal condition prohibiting it from dictating Hulu policy expires next year, just as this will likely be taking off. I have to think Comcast and Disney are looking at Hulu's role as a dirsuptive agent in VERY different ways.

Re: Lots of options, except a la carte
Two birds with one stone, right? But it is always better to have more options to choose from and not be restricted

Yeah, Cable without ESPN...lots of that going to sell.

That is why the content people have the advantage.

Lots of options, except a la carte
The balkanization of video content shows no sign of reversing. Meanwhile, the one development that customers really want -- true a la carte service offers -- shows no sign of actually manifesting. Bizarre, but not surprising.
