I switched to "twenty" X when we hit 2010. At that point, it was less of a mouthful (as in, one less syllable to utter).

So I guess the social agreement is that in four years we'll be done with saying "two-thousand" or the year, yes?

(Which makes sense.  I still say two-thousand-sixteen, but at some point it would be old-fashioned to keep saying two-thousand for years.)
