TiVo Knows Something About UI
So many set top boxes are made with clunky and slow user-interfaces. Part of TiVo's formula of success is that early on they had a UI (including remote control) that simply worked very well. Too many devices are made by engineers not designers and this lack of focus hurts the industry. With TiVo, good design has been been the nutrition needed to keep the company thriving.

It is amazing to me that TiVo has been able to survive for so long. It's been a nimble company, taking the market as it comes and adjusting. I think that's admirable, which makes their team really worth something. I'm not sure who would acquire them but to me they sure seem like an attractive target.
