Anyone noticing any problems yet?
I would think that the events in NYC and Phila are going to be the ones that test the network but post here if/when you notice any possible congestion issues if you're in those areas!

Tiny popemobile
It should be noted that the pope's "popemobile" when he arrived was a tiny Fiat 500. It was dwarfed by the security cars around it!

Hungry Hotspots
Major events and soaring data usage is a common headache for most operators. Peak times used to be a fairly simple concept a decade ago but now rich multimedia sharing, uploading and streaming across the network creates new dimensions of complexity for network management. We conducted an analysis earlier this year that showed more than half of all mobile data is consumed by just 1 percent of users. Similarly, we found more than half of all data consumption is confined within less than 1 percent of the total network area.

All in all, as mobile operators continue dealing with capex issues, they're going to need to rethink the way they approach network quality assurance. With next-generation solutions that can help operators identify – and harness data from – location-related issues, scaling up a network with short notice for things like Pope visits becomes much more than just a pure capacity play. And with that, he can FaceTime back home without any issues.

MTA
The city is suggesting that everyone use the subway in NYC Friday, rather than driving or taking a bus, so that'll be tons of fun!

Anyway, I've asked Transit Wireless what they expect from the subway WiFi/3G/4G on Friday.

Re: iPhone delays
Will likely disrupt shipments to other areas as well. Some deliveries destined for elsewhere are likley scheduled through New York or Philaddephia.

iPhone delays
The papal visit will disrupt iPhone 6s deliveries in New York, causing at least one crisis in faith.
