MikeP688, great vision and great work.  Congratulations!  Public agencies that follow your model will demonstrate value and the ability to solve big problems.

Re: Homeless
@DHagar:  Many public agencies are reaching out to partner with private agencies.   I have assisted in facilitating to support the Local Human Services Agency Pantry that they launched to supplement the work they do.    Public Agencies have to think different--otherwise they cannot continue to sustain the level of services as they do.

Re: homeless
They do   great work--but the problem that has to be addressed is more of a long-term problem which is a political challenge for which there is no clear cut answer--or will to address.    The need is continuing ever more--and I see it in some of my own Community Outreach Work.

Re: homeless
It's quite interesting.  It's never dawned on me that as things go online it might also create an inescapable pit for those in a bad position.  I'm glad to see there's support for those in the most need!

Re: Homeless
Ariella, I think you are right that many public agencies are focused on the services available to the public.

This is a fascinating example of the critical role that "connectivity" plays in one's ability to not only navigate but to also access needed social services for survival.

Carol, this is a great example of public/private partnerships.  Never thought about the documents issue - great examples!

Interesting. I noticed when I rode the subway recently that WiFi has been set up to keep people plugged in even while waiting for trains. I figure that it has more to do with keeping people content by staying plugged in than with any particular social welfare concern.
