@Mitch: 

I believe the cultural barriers are different and much stronger than in US. For instance, there are still extended family systems in India with bigger households. This requires much more work at home. Another example: daughter-in-law is a much stronger relationship. The women is expected to take care of her parents-in-law who are often aging if not aged.

If it's true for the foreseeable future that 30% of engineering students are women, it should be fairly predictable that the growth of startups will show a similar growing percentage. It does seems even remarkable that the male dominated cultural tradition is changing so quickly in recent history.

Yes it is good to see that the number of women entrepreneurs is increasing in India. Lets hope the momentum continues...WiC breakfast in India is a great idea :)

It remains difficult to access funding and VCs do question women tech entrepreneurs about work-life balance etc. culturally the barriers are probably similar to tech entrepreneurs in the US...

Thank you for this update, Gagandeep! I think each region certainly has its own unique challenges and opportunities when it comes to WiC. It's good to see it's improving, albeit slowly, in India. Maybe we can schedule a future WiC breakfast there. :)
