@atiller: I think as long as Airtel's program is open for all players to join, there should be no concern. It is equivalent of paying users back their access fee.

Ref "However, this also means that a user will be able to access only those websites that have joined Airtel Zero, and not any others" is this really the case, or is it just what the net neutrality zealots want us to think?  As I understand it, there is no walled garden, it's just that some content will be zero-rated and not incur data charges.  Airtel insists this has nothing to do with net neutrality (eg there will be no 'fast lanes' on the mobile internet), and I think they have a valid point.
