 @kq4ym: Of $17.5bn, if one-third is to be paid now would translate to $6bn. So this will be a big bite for indian consumers.

It may be interesting to see if there's any truth in rules alleged to have been broken or unfair to some in the auction. The costs for the spectrum will certainly be passed on the the customers at some point, although since the companies only need to pay one-third now and the balance years down the road, it may not be such a big bite all at once.

biggest auction in the world?
So the long awaited auction is now a done deal. I am excitedly looking forward to the results. This was a milestone in Indian telecommunications history. Wasnt this the biggest auction in the world?
