Re: Impact on other carrier decisions?
Cisco has some compelling options for the metro. One being the ability to do 10x10G and 1x100G on the same card via the CPAK optics vs. using two different cards.  In the near future you will also be able to do 200G 16-QAM on the same card and then add a companion card which again can do either 1x100G or 10x10G.  16-QAM's place in NA is really in the metro.  On the OTN side the NCS4K is very promising wth its multi-chassis ability, although has been vaporware until just now. It's officially supported in the very latest Cisco SW released in the last month.

Cisco has always been popular for smaller carriers and metro deployments, it's long-haul they have virtually no worldwide deployments.

Re: Impact on other carrier decisions?
Obviously its good for Cisco, but do you really think it could all change in 6 months, I think it might take a bit longer to turn things around if VZ decides to give Cisco the boot.

Impact on other carrier decisions?
What will this do for Cisco's opportunities in other 100G metro deals? This could get pretty serious, with the impact greater on the other companies chasing the business.

Cisco is on a bit of a roll at the moment.... but it's always swings and roundabouts, right? (By which, I mean that in 6 months time things could be all so different)
