Makes sense
It makes sense that the edge is where we'll see virtualization first. It's the clearest value proposition for the carrier -- save costs by eliminating, or at least reducing, the number of remote boxes they need to install and maintain.

lesser knowledge means lesser money
As more and more smart devices connect to the network, the network becomes dumb and dumber. Telcos are not realizing that intelligence is shifting from their CRMs and datawarehouses. The less you know about the customer, the less opportunities you have to make money. And vice nersa.
